WIMBLEDON TENNIS 2017 • Tidbits Of News And Photos And 10sBalls Team Met “LADY WIMBLEDON”
- Updated: July 3, 2017
The team from 10sBalls arrived in London early. They say “The early bird gets the worm.”
We did way better than that. We met the fabulous “LADY WIMBLEDON.”
Yes, she is a really beautiful and kind LADY. But not a real “LADY” , but that’s OK. Because “LADY GAGA” isn’t either, right.
We met a bright charming woman who made this fabulous “character”.
She had a reception last week that we attended. It was so much fun. The champagne and Pimms were flowing. The event had somewhere around 200 odd people there all having fun and getting a good BUZZ going to kick off the CHAMPIONSHIPS.
The week at THE QUEENS CLUB flew by. Stephen Farrow is the best tourney director outside of a SLAM. His event is ginormous from when we last attended. But it’s brilliant. The finals was fabulous. Both singles and doubles. With the singles title going to Feliciano Lopez and the dubs to JAMIE Murray and Bruno Soares.
Yesterday was our first day at the ALL England Lawn Tennis Club. Again, it too has grown but in the nicest of ways.
As we stood in line for our credentials we were sandwiched between two Tennis Legends and Mamas. In front of us was VIKA. New mom VICTORIA Azaranka and her six month old baby boy. And behind us was Lindsay Davenport and her three beautiful daughters.
Our plans were to get our passes, their plans were the same but also to find the child minders or the “kresh” to deposit the kids.
We did that and then roamed the GROUNDS. We were in awe of the magnificence of the A.E.L.T.C. The draw was made. The seeds were placed. In a draw of 128 players we still prefer 16 “seeds” we think 32 is a bit silly.
We saw a heap of amazing practices. But no one was on the courts more than “RAFA” RAFAEL Nadal. He is always great with the kids and autographs or smiling and interacting.
We squished in a tourney car with Bethanie Mattek-Sands and Justin Sands to Qualies in Roehampton at the Bank of England. We saw Ruben Bemelmans play his second match and then arrived the next day in time to see him serve and win his match . He faces Tommy Haas in the first round.
We can tell you the players are being well fed and “Pip” is running the main restaurant and “Chris ” has the restaurant at the practice courts. We see lots of fab food and snacks and smoothies. All fresh and healthy. Or and yes Tons of strawberries and cream. Cheers and Cheerio till next time.
Thank you Lady WIMBLEDON for the launch party.
