10SBALLS SHARES A PHOTO GALLERY OF OUR FRIEND BETHANIE MATTEK SANDS
- Updated: July 9, 2017
Editors note: During Bethanie’s singles match she suffered a horrific injury to her knee. It seemed like her foot got stuck and her knee buckled and she was in monumental pain. Her “ROCK” and Husband Justin held her and tried to comfort her till the medics arrived with a stretcher and morphine. SORANA CIRSTEA crossed the net immediately and knew she had never seen such a brutal injury and instantly said help was needed. Poor Bethanie kept screaming that as well. “Help Me • Help Me”… Oh, it was hard to see. The pain was felt all over the radius of the All England Club in a moment. Then all over WIMBLEDON. All over LONDON. And All over the World. We were all crying and sharing her agony. Bethanie is Loved by the whole tennis family. Everyone loves her bigger than life personality, her miles of smiles, her love of life and sense of fashion and her style of tennis and pure enjoyment of being on the WTA tour.
She is without a doubt one of the finest athletes to ever play tennis.
10sballs Team had spent some time with during the fortnight of WIMBLEDON 2017. “Team Bucie” Bethanie Mattek-Sands and Lucie Safarova were looking good for their career doubles “Grand Slam” in Ladies doubles. They had teamed together to win the U.S. Open in New York in Sept 2016. Then in Melbourne Australia in Jan 2017 They won the Aussie Open. Then in Paris in May at the 2017 FRENCH Open they won. So this WIMBLEDON 2017 would have been their fourth Slam in a row together.
We all wish Bethanie lots of positive energy. She has a hard road ahead. Surgery in a few days, months of healing and then rehab. Bethanie can do it. She has beaten the odds every other injury and recovery. She always comes back stronger and enjoys the sweetness of her wins even more. (LJ)
