It’s kind of funny. Most tennis tourneys start play on Monday and end on Sunday. In Paris you literally have 3 Sunday’s of play.
There’s the Sunday start, the middle Sunday, and the finals on a Sunday.
In London at WIMBLEDON there’s usually only one Sunday of play. The final Sunday. Also known as • Championship Sunday.
Play starts on Monday. The middle Sunday is a rest day for all, and the finals are the only Sunday played.
Prior to the U.S. OPEN getting a roof, it seemed to have a handful of 3 Monday’s of play.
Ok. You get it. The Parisians know their audience. Their demographics. They know they can pack the house on 3 consecutive Sunday’s.
Personally We love it. If more tennis events understood what their fans wanted there wouldn’t be so many empty seats worldwide weekly.
Ok. Paris news. ROGER’S arrived and doing public relations work with his mighty and many sponsors. Rafa is practicing twice a day two hours at a time. We saw him do that pre 2017 Wimby. He was worn out before the event started. Just saying.
This was a hard fought qualies as we’ve seen. We were sure disappointed at Roehampton 2017. Certainly didn’t see the battles we expected.
The parties and events are endless. Just left a small player party. We are still spinning. Jet-lag isn’t so bad….
Ok. We saved the best for last. We promised gossip. How does Sam Querrey play dubs with Mike Bryan when the dubs finals are the weekend Sam is getting married?
