Tennis • FILA To Debut New Collections In New York City @The 2019 U.S. OPEN
- Updated: September 3, 2019
FILA’s sponsored tennis athletes will debut two striking collections on-court in New York City next week. The women’s Awning and the men’s Legend collections both feature show-stopping silhouettes and pops of color that seamlessly marry performance and style.
Women’s Awning Collection
Top FILA sponsored players, including World No. 2 Ash Barty and No. 5 Kiki Bertens, will step into the New York spotlight sporting the bright and bold Awning collection. The collection offers a unique spin on traditional tennis wear with unapologetic pops of hot pink and orange peel offset by traditional FILA navy. The Awning collection includes a beautiful selection of tanks in a variety of patterns and cuts, including the Cami Tank, the Colorblocked Tank and the Halter Tank – each of which are offered in the collection’s primary colors of fuschia purple, orange peel and white. The Stripe Tank and Full Coverage Tank pop off the court with color-saturated stripes that are sure to turn heads. A traditional Short Sleeve Top is offered in both white and striped styles for more conservative coverage.
These tops mix and match beautifully with the Stripe Flare Skort, A-Line Skort and playful Pleated Skort, all of which incorporate an inside Forza Ball Short and COOLMAX Core Technology. The ever-flattering Awning Dress is sure to stun with its contrast color binding at the neck and armholes, along with a striped yoke panel and silver cut-out F-Box logo. The Awning Long-Sleeve Top, Jacket and Pant round out the collection.
Men’s Legend Collection
FILA’s John Isner, Sam Querrey, Diego Schwartzman and other sponsored players will debut the Legend collection on the hard courts of the Big Apple for the final Grand Slam of the 2019 season. The collection honors FILA’s traditional tennis heritage with looks build for the modern-day player. Citron and ombré color splashes take center stage in pieces such as the Ombré Print Crew, offered in white / navy / pistachio green and navy / white / placid blue color palettes, and the three-button Ombré Polo, available in navy. The Colorblocked Crew and Striped Polo feature varying designs of a stripe pattern that incorporates the same color scheme.
The Legend Collection offers two takes on the Legend Short – a traditional offering available in navy or white – along with a new Ombré Short with a striped inside drawcord, contrast color side panels and front slash pockets. A made-to-move navy tracksuit composed of the Legend Jacket and Pant is piped with contrasting white and placid blue for added interest. The Jacket also features a bold contrast color stripe panel at the chest and sleeves.
All FILA sponsored athletes will wear a specially-designed edition of the Axilus 2 Energized on court in New York City. The women’s shoe features an eye-catching orange peel / white / fuschia purple colorway to complement the bold colors of the Awning Collection, while the men’s shoe offers a FILA navy / white / placid blue palette. FILA’s newest performance tennis shoe has propelled the brand’s roster of sponsored players – which includes three of the top five female players in the world (No. 2 Barty, No. 3 Karolina Pliskova and No. 5 Bertens) – to unparalleled success during the 2019 season. |
