TennisBalls • RAFA Nadal, Medvedev, Tsitsipas, And Zverev Make For Interesting Group A At Nitto ATP Finals
- Updated: November 6, 2019
By Ricky Dimon
As Alexander Zverev noted during Tuesday’s Nitto ATP Finals draw ceremony, Group Andre Agassi is Rafael Nadal and the young guys. Nadal has at least a 10-year age cushion on everyone else and has six more year-end championship appearances than the other three competitors combined (eight to two).
It is Zverev, however, who owns more titles at this prestigious tournament (one) than the other three combined (zero). So it’s not like Nadal is an obvious favorite to win the group–certainly not based on the fact that he withdrew from a Paris Masters semifinal last week due to an abdominal injury. This should be pretty wide open between Nadal, Zverev, Daniil Medvedev, and Stefanos Tsitsipas. Get your popcorn ready because it’s going to be a lot of fun, too (Medvedev vs. Tsitsipas? Yes, please!).
Let’s crunch the Group A numbers prior its Monday start inside the O2 Arena.
