The BNP Paribas Open began with a bang, just as it always does. Mixed doubles Tiebreak Tens is an event other joint ATP/WTA tournaments should adopt, but so far Indian Wells has a monopoly on the proceedings.
Tuesday night marked another installment of the the annual Eisenhower Cup, with eight mixed doubles teams vying for the title on Court 2 at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden. This year it was the first-time pairing of Taylor Fritz and Elena Rybakina lifting the trophy. It is Fritz’s second Cup win (previously with Aryna Sabalenka), while Rybakina was making her debut.
They defeated the all-American duo of Tommy Paul and Australian Open Madison Keys in the final.
Main-draw singles action in Tennis Paradise begins on Wednesday.
