Novak Djokovic, one of the most accomplished players in tennis history, has added Dusan Vemic as his new coach ahead of the 2025 French Open.
The coaching change comes following Djokovic’s recent split from Andy Murray, who had briefly joined his team in an experimental collaboration earlier this year. Now, with Vemic by his side, Djokovic hopes to rediscover the edge that has been missing from his game in recent months. The two share a great love and friendship as well as admiration for each other.
Dusan Vemic is in Geneva coaching Djokovic at this week’s Geneva Open and will be in his coaching box as he plays for a record-extending 25th Grand Slam crown at Roland Garros.
Dusan Vemic, a former ATP pro and long-time friend of Djokovic, is well-known within the tennis community not only for his playing abilities and his coaching acumen but also as a respected ambassador for 10sBalls.com.
We were very lucky to connect with him years ago. He loved to use our training facilities. Dusan previously worked with Djokovic from 2011 to 2013 and brings a deep understanding of the Serbian star’s playing style, mentality, and goals. His appointment marks a full-circle moment for both men as they aim to make a strong push at Roland Garros and the rest of the majors

Vemic is scheduled to assist Djokovic through the duration of the French Open, a tournament that has traditionally posed a unique challenge for even the greatest players. His experience and strategic insight could provide the crucial boost Djokovic needs as he hunts for his 25th Grand Slam title.
The 2025 season has been a bumpy ride for Djokovic so far. After a disappointing retirement from the Australian Open semifinals due to a thigh injury and early exits in Monte Carlo and Madrid, questions were raised about his form and fitness. However, his recent decision to accept a wildcard into the Geneva Open ahead of Roland Garros seems to be paying off. Djokovic picked up a much-needed win against Marton Fucsovics (6-2, 6-3), marking his first victory on clay this season and advancing to the quarterfinals.
As he continues his build-up to Roland Garros, the partnership with Vemic could not have come at a more pivotal time. The bond between the two, coupled with their shared national pride and years of mutual respect, may well be the secret ingredient Djokovic has been missing.
